Hunkpati Investments Receives Department of Treasury Funding

The Department of Treasury's CDFI Fund awarded funding to Hunkpati Investments to further its development as a Native Community Development Institution.

The technical assistance award will be used by the organization to access training and develop financial products to meet the needs of the Crow Creek Reservation.

Hunkpati Investments is an emerging CDFI that was formed by Crow Creek community members to provide access to capital and development services on the reservation. Micro loans, entrepreneurship training, financial literacy classes, and one-on-one assistance for borrowers are all services currently available from Hunkpati Investments.

The Harvest Initiative has provided support for the emerging CDFI and received funding from the Department of the Treasury in 2009 as a sponsoring entity.
