Hunkpati Investments Awarded USDA Funding

The United States Department of Agriculture announced last week that Hunkpati Investments was selected to receive funding to assist rural businesses and spur economic development on the Crow Creek Sioux Reservation.

The funding was awarded through the Rural Business Enterprise Grant program which is administered by USDA Rural Development.

The funding will be used to support the creation and administration of a revolving loan fund. Loans will be given to local entrepreneurs in order to support and create small businesses on the Crow Creek Reservation.

Hunkpati Investments was founded in 2009 by a committed board of local community members in order to provide financial opportunities to stimulate economic development on the Crow Creek Sioux Reservation, promoting self-sufficiency, self-determination and an enhanced quality of life for the reservation community.
