Business Law Class Completed at Crow Creek Tribal High School
Jan. 9, 2009
Five students completed the first Business Law Course offered as a collaboration between The Harvest Initiative and Crow Creek Tribal Schools.
The students, juniors and seniors, studied a wide array of business law topics including business entities, the Uniform Commercial Code, property law, tribal businesses, and business capitalization.
The course focused on how the various areas of business law interact with tribal law and how businesses on the Crow Creek Reservation are impacted.
Students each completed research projects on community development institutions around the country and then presented their findings to the class. The students also researched the current mortgage crisis in America and debated the causes and solutions.
The Business Law Course will be offered again in the spring semester.
